8 must have apps for every mortgage broker

Award-winning broker Joshua Vecchio lists his top mobile apps for doing business

Director of Discovery Finance Group, Joshua Vecchio has written over $250m using techniques and tips being shared on his recently launched website Top Broker.

Face it: brokers are phone junkies! During the day if we’re not seeing customers or referrers, we’re either working on our computers or glued to our phones – according to one study some of us check our phones over 110 times per day - but are we using our phnes in the best way possible to grow our businesses, or are we wasting time on Facebook looking at what our friends had for lunch?

I think in general we all can make better use of our phones and the wide array of apps that are available, so I’ve put together the 8 Must-Have apps for every Mortgage Broker – these are apps I personally use each and every day with my personal favourite being number 3 – it has saved me so much time – so check it out!

App 1: Audible

As brokers it’s amazing how many hours and kilometres we rack up in the car every week – so why not turn your car into a library on wheels? Audible allows you to access over 100,000 downloadable audiobooks for one flat monthly fee of $15! It’s really easy to navigate and full of books that can help give you ideas on how to get more deals and grow your business! As author Jim Rohn says, “The difference between where you are today and where you’ll be five years from now will be found in the quality of books you’ve read.”

App 2: Sunrise Calendar

When we’re not living in our inboxes and meeting customers we are booking appointments with customers – but a rubbish calendar app can make you less productive. For me while I’m on the road I’ve found Sunrise Calendar to be the solution because the app itself is easy to navigate, seamless to connect to your existing calendars and my favourite part is that it is just smart – For example if you type in “Lunch with John-Accountant” it automatically updates the time to start around 1pm (i.e. lunchtime) which just makes it quicker to use! Sunrise also lets you drill down to get more information on the contacts with whom you’re having meetings which is critical if you’re busy bouncing between meetings during the day and need to get a heads up on the next meeting.

App 3: SignEasy

Ok let’s get serious, if you’re on the road and urgently need to get a document printed, signed, scanned and resent it can be a pretty big muck around – not anymore! SignEasy removes all of that mucking around by allowing you to sign and resend documents right from your phone! All you have to do is open the document within the app, click “sign,” and you’re able to sign with you finger – so it gets those urgent loan documents back to where they need to go quickly and easily!

App 4: Evernote

Oh Evernote where would I be without you? I put literally everything in here from new business cards (it reads the text and turns them into a contact) to audio notes and general ideas. I use it for my daily to-do lists and the best part is that it syncs across EVERYTHING – Computer, phone and tablet. Check it out if you haven’t already.

App 5: Cam Scanner

I love this app so much! Cam Scanner turns your phone into a fully functional scanner!! So next time you shout your client a coffee or lunch use Cam Scanner to scan the receipt as soon as you finish and automatically upload to Dropbox or email it to yourself! It’s a must for any broker visiting clients outside their office.

App 6: CommBank Property Guide OR RP Data Property Pro

Look like a BOSS in front of your clients and give them a valuation figure on the spot. Both apps are great tools to educate your clients on what their property is worth in the current market. They also show high level details on other properties including number of beds, baths and car spaces. But my favourite part is knowing what’s recently sold in their area and gain access to all the suburb statics – which I find clients love. The CommBank Property Guide is FREE and the RP Data Property Pro is paid via your subscription.

This application is great anyone that wants to go to the gym but isn’t sure what to do there. It will give you a specific workout routine and progressively gets harder and more advance as time goes on. For all those Top Brokers looking to pump up their gym life, this is the must have app for you.
