AFG strengthens WA service offering

New additions support membership growth

AFG strengthens WA service offering

AFG has strengthened its service offering to its members in Western Australia, appointing two new staff members to support brokers.

Andy Drake (pictured above left) has joined the aggregator as WA sales manager and Lisa Lam (pictured above right) has joined as partnership manager. Both started their roles in November and are based in AFG’s head office in Perth.

With over 15 years’ financial services experience, most recently as sales manager for The Loan Company, Drake works with brokerages to understand their challenges and how AFG can assist them.

Previously finance manager for an award-winning brokerage, Drake has recruited and mentored numerous brokers, many of whom have since become business owners.

Lam has over nine years’ financial services experience, having held various management roles at BOQ, including as retail branch risk coach.  She joins AFG from Bankwest, where she worked as assistant relationship manager within commercial banking.

AFG head of strategic partners and recruitment Them Lam said AFG was expanding its team and Drake’s appointment built on this momentum.

“Andy’s proven skills and experience will provide us with the right platform to work with brokerages across WA to better understand their pain points and ascertain how a partnership with AFG can assist their next phase of growth,” Lam said.

AFG head of broker partnerships WA Jia Jia Wong said it was important to support the increasing number of AFG brokers with high-calibre team members who could fully support them.

“Lisa has the right experience and is passionate about helping support our members with their future successes,” Wong said.

The two new appointments were part of a further strengthening of the service offered to new and existing members, and followed key appointments on the eastern seaboard, AFG said.

Earlier this month, AFG announced that George Haddad and Krishneil Prasad had joined the company as partnership managers in NSW.

Having joined AFG in 2017 as business relationship manager in the AFG Home Loans team, Danni Porter has been promoted to the role of sales manager for Northern Territory and Queensland.

In October, AFG appointed Christa Malkin to the role of national manager – strategic partners, based in Melbourne.  Malkin works with AFG’s strategic partners team, supporting bigger, enterprise-sized brokerages.

More recently, AFG announced it had partnered with the Foyer Foundation, committing $600,000 to the cause of helping homeless youth over the next three years.
