QLD BDM for ANZ, Andrew Horowitz has been in the industry for a decade, clocking six years in business banking and four as a Broker BDM.

BDM in the spotlight asks a different BDM the same seven questions – giving you a weekly insight into the lives of some of the top BDMs in the country.

How often do you see brokers in a week?
I spend 3-4 days a week with my brokers, visiting up to 2-3 offices and seeing up to 8 brokers a day.

What do brokers want most from you?
My brokers want me to be available when they need me. Whether it’s by phone, email or text, I am able to deliver them the fastest possible response every time.

What is your favourite part of the job?
I enjoy workshopping complex scenarios with my brokers. Call me nostalgic about my Business Banking days, but I enjoy breaking down a complex set of financials and assisting my brokers with a Self Employed client.

What distinguished the best brokers you deal with?
My best brokers have invested their lives into their businesses, having created a seamless end to end process, which focuses on the most important part of our entire business, the customer and their experience.

Describe your ideal weekend.
My ideal weekend is spent with family and friends, out on the Jetski, a BBQ by the beach and an evening stroll under the stars.

How do you like your steak done?
I enjoy the more unusual cuts of steak, such as flat iron, hanger and flank. So for me it’s rare with pepper sauce.

Every Wednesday we’ll feature a different BDM from across Australia. If you’d like to be included, please email the editor.
