Between completing her bachelor of science and deciding on a masters, ANZ BDM for QLD and NT Dayle Boyer joined the banking world and never looked back.

BDM in the spotlight asks a different BDM the same seven questions – giving you a weekly insight into the lives of some of the top BDM’s in the country.

How often do you see brokers in a week?
Most often Mondays are spent in the office with team meetings, updates, etc.  The rest of the week I generally have two meetings per day, meaning I’m on the road a lot but still have plenty of screen time to keep up to date. I also try to do a coffee cluster every fortnight or so to see a number of brokers at once.

What do brokers want most from you?
Mostly, to be available. Taking their calls when they ring, or returning calls asap.

What is your favourite part of the job?
Being out on the road, I just love it. I also really enjoy presenting and running workshops/training sessions. I love the variety that this job presents, every day can be very different. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

What distinguished the best brokers you deal with?
They run a tight ship and are organised, efficient, and knowledgeable; they are also great to deal with, and have a real collaborative spirit. They help BDM’s work with them to get the outcome we are all aiming for.  They remain calm when things go wrong and allow us to work together to fix things.  And they support lenders that support them.  They also happen to usually be great Premium Broker candidates

Describe your ideal weekend.
Noosa – swim at Laguna Bay after breakfast; coffee and a chilli chocolate at Sweet Tempered Chocolateria; lunch at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club, another swim, then champagne at Sunset on the Noosa River! One day I aim to live there permanently.

How do you like your steak done?
Medium rare served with a Pinot Noir, asparagus and butter
