BDM in the spotlight: Tracey Crevatin (Kittson)

This week's BDM from PLAN Australia says she was always destined to be in the mortgage broking industry.

PLAN Australia BDM for Melbourne, Tracey Crevatin (Kittson) has been part of the industry for 20 years, since starting her first job in finance right after highschool.

BDM in the spotlight asks a different BDM the same seven questions – giving you a weekly insight into the lives of some of the top BDM’s in the country.

How often do you see brokers in a week?
I dedicate 3-4 days per week to see my brokers.

What do brokers want most from you?
Integrity, honesty, transparency and reliability. It’s a bonus that I am quick and accurate too!

What is your favourite part of the job?
I take great pride in assisting my brokers and watching their businesses grow and prosper. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing my work directly help a broker grow their business. Being awarded BDM of the Year at the 2015 PLAN Australia conference was pretty rewarding too!

Being a BDM also helps me have some flexibility with my young family. Work-life balance is a constant juggling act, but even when I work hours all over the shop I really value that I get to spend time with my two young boys.

What distinguishes the best brokers you deal with?
The best brokers have a willingness to continually learn, evolve and give anything a go. I really enjoy working with brokers who remain open to suggestions on how they can improve.

Describe your ideal weekend
My ideal weekend involves spending quality time with my husband and two beautiful boys, whether it be having brunch, visiting the zoo or going to the park. As long as we are together, we have fun!

What’s the strangest lending scenario you’ve ever encountered?

There have been a few scenarios that I've tried to block out of my memory!

How do you like your steak done?
Medium rare with a good mushroom sauce.
