Joust adopts new process to attract brokers

Joust has adopted a new process to attract brokers, helping them come on board quickly and easily.

The home loan marketplace facilitates connections with brokers and lenders to meet borrowers’ home loan needs.

A new supplier sign-up portal has been added to its website, joust.com.au, which it said aimed to inform and educate brokers about its business-to-business proposition, particularly the platform’s Instant Match service.

By requesting key details from the customer and instantly accessing the top three home loans suited to their needs, Joust said its Instant Match service saved borrowers time and energy.

Joust CEO Carl Hammerschmidt (pictured) said having grown relationships with state managers and partnership managers in Victoria, NSW and Queensland, the company’s growth strategy to-date was ensuring it had sufficient “boots on the ground”.

A new digital acquisition strategy would simplify the sign-up process and was already generating interest from brokers.

“We wanted the page to speak to the pain points we know brokers are facing - and state how we are addressing those,” Hammerschmidt said. “For example, we know that one of the biggest challenges for brokers is getting in contact with prospects. So, Joust’s Instant Match uses SMS technology to verify the phone number. We speak to this and other areas on the page.”

He said the portal, which currently allowed brokers to register for a demonstration, would be refined over time.

“The ideology for the page was to keep it simple, clean and to clearly articulate what we do and the benefits for brokers. Industry feedback has been fantastic, and the metrics speak for themselves. Great conversion rates are critical to Joust in more ways than one,” Hammerschmidt said.

Next time around, the company planned to loop in some of its trusted partners to be part of the process.

“For now, it’s all about bringing more quality mortgage brokers onto the platform – and this page is certainly helping,” he said.

Joust said its open and transparent process helped Australians uncover suitable home loan products and lowest rates based on their profile and needs.

Leads were sent to brokers in real time via email notification or CRM integration. This helped to ensure they were received when intention was at its peak.

Brokers wanting more information could go to the Joust sign-up portal. While brokers signing up to the platform must meet certain criteria, Joust said it aimed to be inclusive, and discussions would determine if a partnership was a good fit.
