NLG Leasing's new general manager, Aaron Reiter, tells MPA how he is expanding relationships with brokers

Meet NLG Leasing's new GM

Asset finance provider, NLG Leasing, has welcomed former broker and branch manager, Aaron Reiter onboard as its new general manager.

What drew you to the GM role at NLG Leasing?
There was an immediate synergy with my experience and skillsets and NLG Leasing’s evolving requirements and growth projections. My experience, product knowledge about asset finance and innate understanding of the nuances of the industry directly aligns with NLG Leasing’s service offering. This knowledge bank means that I can hit the ground running and move straight into implementing initiatives to enhance the company’s position as a leading asset finance provider.

What does your prior experience in the industry bring to this role?
Prior to my tenure in finance as a broker and branch manager, I was involved in vehicle sales for over ten years. This has cumulated into extensive experience in asset underwriting, broking and sales, combined with a full end-to-end understanding of the process involved with writing an asset finance.  I’ve always thrived in a relationship-driven environment, and have a genuine appreciation of the market’s priorities and pain points. This approach is vitally important for both day-to-day interactions and growth.

How are you intending to expand NLG’s relationship with brokers?
Evolving broker partnerships are essential and a core focus of mine, and for the business in general. The team and I are actively focussed on expanding relationships with brokers through regular communications, greater personal interface and more PD days attendance with small aggregator groups. To escalate this trajectory, we’ve just appointed a new broker to NLG Leasing’s product adviser unit, and will progressively add personnel to reflect the upswing in demand for flexible asset financing. Our broker panel will continue to be supported through high levels of customer service, tight processing, full back-end support and fast turnaround.

What benefits are there for brokers in adding asset finance to their service offering?
Brokers are increasingly realising how asset finance is a smart, flexible alternative that allows the reallocation of funds to positively affect their client’s business efficiencies, productivity, sales, and ultimately growth. Similarly, reskinning cash flow effectively can also greatly enhance a client’s lifestyle and help achieve their personal goals. Whether it’s for professional or personal purposes, we encourage brokers to continue to simply ask whether their client’s funds are being utilised to their maximum capacity. This advisory approach deepens relationships, provides a competitive advantage and increases revenue.

What are you looking forward to getting started on first?
I’m most looking forward to building relationships with our broker panel and exploring some currently untapped opportunities.
