Why peer-to-peer learning is vital for brokers

Choice CEO Stephen Moore explains why brokers who aren’t getting this type of education could be missing out.

Are you looking for better advice on how to run an efficient and effective brokerage?

Choice CEO Stephen Moore told MPA TV this is best gained through better listening, not just at a consumer level, but through learning from peers as well.

“We think that peer-to-peer learning is absolutely fundamental to professional development - in fact, it shapes our agenda,” says Moore.

Listening to the latest advice on how brokers can run a profitable business has broader community and cultural benefits, says Moore.

“Broking can be quite isolating,” he says. “So, you know that sense of belonging, acknowledgement that you’re not alone when it comes to the learning you’re going through.”

“Being able to tap into some of the best in the industry really is a powerful thing for brokers.”

Technology, in particular, has a crucial role to play for brokers looking to improve their education, adds Moore.

“We use webinars with interactive chat and with great member feedback,” says Moore. “But it’s to supplement other learning, it doesn’t replace other learning.”

“Most importantly it is face-to-face learning which is really powerful and the reason why is that you just get a better in-depth experience.”

The benefits of face-to-face education:
  • Learn from top brokers how to run an efficient and effective business.
  • It helps brokers deal with the isolation and makes them feel part of a community.
  • Brokers get a more in-depth and powerful learning experience.
  • It compliments other methods of education, such as technology-based learning.
