Institutional Mortgage Capital appoints new managing director

Institutional Mortgage Capital has announced the appointment of Ken McKinnon as its new senior managing director and equity partner.

Directly reporting to IMC CEO and managing partner John Ho, McKinnon will manage the group’s relationships and capital raising activities for its growing debt and equity businesses.

McKinnon will also serve as a member of IMC’s investment committee, working with senior managing directors and equity partners Darren Schmidt and Bob Fitzpatrick.

“We are very excited for the future of IMC,” Ho said. “The addition of Ken reinforces our commitment to building an organization that will provide best-in-class investment solutions to our clients for years to come.”

Prior to his appointment in IMC, McKinnon served as head of real estate corporate banking at TD Securities from 2014, with a total of more than 23 years at TD Bank Group.

“At TDS, he was responsible for a team of over 20 professionals covering all sectors of the real estate space across Canada and the US,” IMC said. “[McKinnon] and his team originated, advised and risk managed over $100 billion in debt transactions and actively built leading relationships with both large and small public and private real estate owners and operators across North America.”
