Calgary home starts for 2010: CMHC

Calgary construction starts for 2010 are forecasted to total 9,100 by the end of December, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

Calgary construction starts for 2010 are forecasted to total 9,100 by the end of December, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
 
CMHC predicts the total numbers will be 5,900 detached single-family home starts and 3,200 multi-family housing starts.
 
The federal agency expects 2011 total starts to decline by 200 compared to this year.
 
Across Alberta, all housing starts in the seven largest cities declined 17 per cent last month to 1,801.
