After serving on the IMBA board of directors since 2002, Jeff Atlin has been named president of the association. He touched on his plans for the upcoming year at the IMBA general meeting on March 4.

"I think part of the focus of the seminars and symposiums this year will be dealing with the economic climate we find ourselves in, and how to help our members work smarter and deal with doing business in this economy," said Atlin, who served as vice-president of IMBA last year under outgoing president David Mandel.

Atlin said the association will also continue its focus on educating members about the new FSCO regulations in 2009 and work on building membership through incentive programs. He added more announcements will be made at the IMBA annual conference on April 2 and 3.

Other IMBA appointments announced at the general meeting included Margo Wynhofen as vice-president, Mal Eccles as secretary and Robert Gascon as treasurer.
