Leading reverse mortgage lender launches COVID-19 initiatives

A leading provider of reverse mortgages in Canada has mandated its employees to proactively check on their clients amid the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In its current “Operation Warm Hug” initiative, HomeEquity Bank is aiming to help ease the public’s feelings of isolation during this period of severely limited mobility.

“The past six weeks have really shown us what a central role our homes play in how we work, relax and live,” said HomeEquity Bank President and CEO Steven Ranson.

In collaboration with Toronto ad agency Zulu Alpha Kilo, HomeEquity Bank also launched its latest media campaign thanking all Canadians who have cooperated with measures aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus.

“Our new campaign is centred on sharing some of the countless ways Canadians have embraced this new way of life at home as we all do our part to get through this extremely difficult time,” Ranson said.

Additionally, HomeEquity Bank will be donating $50,000 each to both the Canadian Red Cross and YMCA of Greater Toronto.

“We’re honoured to support organizations like the Canadian Red Cross, YMCA of Greater Toronto and various charities important to our employees. I also want to encourage all Canadians to do their part to support organizations making a difference,” Ranson said.
