Brokerage launches second broker academy

National brokerage Just Mortgages is set to run its second broker academy this year, aimed at professionals with a basic understanding of the mortgage sector.

The programme is open to those who have completed their CeMAP 1 certification, including former mortgage industry professionals, estate agents, and individuals with a banking or financial services background.

The academy intends to elevate participants’ knowledge, focusing on a range of skills necessary for success as mortgage brokers in a competitive market. Just Mortgages will support attendees not only through their exams but also by enhancing soft skills and lead generation techniques vital for the brokerage role.

“It’s a tremendous source of pride for us to nurture new talent entering the mortgage industry through our academy,” said Rodney Sloan (pictured), head of learning and development at Just Mortgages. “We are committed to providing aspiring advisers with the ideal launching pad into a successful career in financial advice.

“Our comprehensive training programme provides them with the essential skills, training, and support required to succeed in this ever-evolving field. We tailor the course to meet the individual needs, expertise, and existing experience of our trainees, ensuring they receive personalised support every step of the way.”

The training includes instruction on the sales process, client relationship building, and effective communication to identify and meet client needs. It also covers essential financial protection areas such as critical illness cover, income protection, and life insurance, emphasising client security.

The national academy programme accommodates classes of up to 15 participants, selected from over 500 applicants. It is part of a broader initiative, with four academies scheduled this year.
