BBVA Compass names mortgage banking, home equity director

Joe Cartellone has joined BBVA Compass as director of mortgage banking and home equity, the bank has announced.

In his new role, Cartellone will be responsible for the bank's mortgage and home equity business across the US, including mortgage and home equity originations, servicing, secondary marketing, and portfolio management.

Cartellone brings more than 20 years of banking industry experience to the role. Prior to joining BBVA Compass, he was the head of SMB Direct Merchant Services at First Data and was mortgage banking retail channel executive for JPMorgan Chase.

Cartellone’s experience also includes serving on the board for TeleCheck Services as well as on the Financial Services Roundtable Executive Housing Policy Council, Mortgage Bankers Association of America, and National Association of Realtors.
