HUD deputy secretary nomination advances to full Senate
Following Pam Patenaude’s nomination as HUD deputy secretary in May, the Senate Banking Committee has advanced her nomination to the full Senate, according to HousingWire.

Last month, David Stevens, president and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association, said the Senate should move swiftly in confirming her nomination.

"I want to congratulate Pam for being approved by the Senate Banking Committee to be the next Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD),” Stevens said in a news release. “I know from the many years we have worked together that her knowledge of real-estate finance and deep background, experience and understanding of housing issues will serve her well. I can think of nobody more well suited for this position and I encourage the full Senate to move swiftly to confirm her nomination."

William Brown, president of the National Association of Realtors, also praised Patenaude’s nomination in May, recognizing her strong background in real estate and housing as an asset.

“Pam is an ideal candidate for the position; she understands the issues that impact the industry and our realtor members, and we look forward to continuing our work together with HUD and Pam upon her confirmation to ensure that owning a home remains accessible and affordable so that more individuals can realize their dream of homeownership,” Brown said.
