Landmark Credit Union names new vice president of mortgage lending

Industry veteran David Pendley has joined Landmark Credit Union’s mortgage lending team as its new vice president.

Pendley founded Avenue Mortgage Corporation in 1990, which grew to over $2 billion in mortgage sales before he sold it to CIBM Bank. Pendley remained in CIBM as the director of mortgage banking and oversaw all aspects of the mortgage banking division. Prior to Landmark, Pendley served Avenue Bank/CIBM as regional sales manager, leading a team of 55 mortgage professionals in four states.

"David brings a wealth of mortgage-lending experience to our leadership team," said Jay Magulski, president and CEO of Landmark. "Under David's leadership, we look forward to further expanding our mortgage program. This includes continuing our commitment to educating potential buyers about the homebuying and financing process so our members can feel confident in making the important decisions that will shape their homeownership experience."

"In all my years as a mortgage professional, I can't think of another time the housing market faced the level of rapid change that it is today," said Pendley. "We're seeing changes in who is buying homes and when they are choosing to do it, a shifting rate environment, and low housing inventory in the always impactful entry-level price ranges."

In his new role, Pendley’s responsibilities included reinforcing Landmark’s mortgage team as well as reviewing the product offerings of the credit union.

"Landmark has a fantastic line-up of mortgage products from our first-time home buyers program to competitive rates on a wide variety of mortgage products including construction loans and FHA loans for those borrowers looking for a lower down payment option," said Pendley. "And we have a highly skilled team of loan officers who are passionate about helping our members achieve the dream of homeownership."
