UWM to bring more loan officers into the wholesale market

New program aims at growing wholesale channel by giving brokers a competitive edge

UWM to bring more loan officers into the wholesale market
United Wholesale Mortgage recently launched its new Success Track program to give loan officers a head start on a career in the mortgage industry, the company said.

Held at UWM headquarters in Troy, MI, the program has already seen over 60 participants come through after having its first session in late-January. Open to licensed and unlicensed individuals looking to expand in the mortgage space, Success Track offers the options of a two-day or four-day program held twice monthly, providing more fully-comprehensive training to help brokers be successful in today’s competitive marketplace.

“We place a strong emphasis on our relationships with mortgage brokers and in delivering the best client service experience in the industry,” says Jeremiah Regan, vice president of specialty training. “[Success Track is] an effective way to bring more loan officers into the wholesale channel and speed up the learning curve they go through to become acclimated to the industry. The goal is to teach loan officers the benefits of working in the wholesale channel over retail, and we arm them with knowledge, skills and tools needed to sell themselves against their competition.”

The two-day ‘Mortgage Knowledge’ program offers mortgage basics such as acronyms, how the loan process works and mortgage math, while the complete four-day program dives deeper into topics, including how to drum up business, marketing strategies and more.

“Success Track enables us to partner with our brokers in a way that no other lender does,” says Regan, “and it allows us to provide support to new mortgage professionals from the very beginning of their career. By expediting the learning process for loan officers and giving them on-the-job training, they’re able to learn their craft more quickly and help brokers shops better compete with retail lenders.”
