NRMLA exec receives distinguished service award

NRMLA executive vice president Steve Irwin was honored last week at the annual Reverse Mortgage Day conference in Texas

The executive vice president of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association has been honored with the Jim Mahoney Distinguished Service Award, according to a Reverse Mortgage Daily report.

Steve Irwin was awarded the honor last week at the 16th Annual Reverse Mortgage Day conference in Dallas. The award is granted to those who contribute significant work to the reverse mortgage industry, according to Reverse Mortgage Daily.

“This award is given to an individual who has given more to the industry than they receive,” said conference organizer Scott Normal. “In his many years of distinguished service to the reverse mortgage industry, Steve has exemplified this.”

In his role as executive vice president of NRMLA, Irwin oversees the organization’s policy, education and public affairs initiatives, according to Reverse Mortgage Daily.

“I am thrilled, humbled and honored to receive this recognition,” Irwin told Reverse Mortgage Daily. “This is particularly special coming from a man who I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from for many years, Jim Mahoney.”
