Warren Buffett slashes $3m from beach home price tag

As one of the world’s leading investors, Warren Buffett is no stranger to making a profit, so a 10-fold return on a Laguna Beach home would have been sweet.

But it looks like the Berkshire Hathaway billionaire will have to settle for a smaller ROI on the 6-bedroom home he bought in 1971 for a relatively small $150,000.

Buffett listed the home that he frequented with his late first wife Susan Thomson and their children in early 2017 for $11 million.

But TopTenRealEstateDeals.com points out that after more than a year on the market, the price has been cut by $3.1 million to $7.9 million.

The desirable location, overlooking the Pacific from all rooms and just a short walk from the beach, is matched by the contemporary design of the home which has 6 bedrooms, seven baths.

While the numbers may appear small-fry for a man with a net worth of near $85 billion, the frugal billionaire’s main home in Omaha is worth a mere $600,000.

The listing agent is Bill Dolby of Villa Real Estate, Emerald Bay, California.
