Who won at the Australian Mortgage Awards 2023?

A crowd of more than 700 people gathered at Sydney’s Star Event Centre on Friday to acknowledge the best mortgage and finance industry performers for 2023.

The 2023 Australian Mortgage Awards, held in person for only the second time since the pandemic, attracted guests from all over Australia for a glamorous black-tie event.

In the lender awards,  Westpac won Q2 Bank of the Year, while Liberty was named Rate Money Non-Bank of the Year. Liberty CEO James Boyle (pictured is above left).

Australian comedian and presenter Merrick Watts, who was one of three contestants to complete on Channel 7’s gruelling SAS: Australia challenge in 2020, kept everyone entertained.

After the awards ceremony and three-course dinner were over, guests kicked back on the dance floor, with live entertainment from SongDivision and Soul Mystique.

There were 27 award categories, and two national awards – Westpac Australian Broker of the Year, won by Simplicity Loans & Advisory’s Jean-Pierre Gortan, and the Liberty Australian Brokerage of the Year, which went to Empower Wealth Mortgage Advisory.
