Council continues hunt for new CEO

FSC appoints acting CEO

The Financial Services Council (FSC) has named Haydee Stroud (pictured above left) as its acting chief executive officer, starting May 9.

Stroud, who has been instrumental in shaping the organisation since 2017, takes over the helm with a robust track record.

Stroud “has played a key part in the FSC’s growth and success over the last seven years, and holds a wealth of knowledge and experience in the FSC’s ecosystem, operations, and vision,” FSC Board Chair Rob Flannagan (pictured above right) said in a news release.

Stable transition promised

The appointment comes as the FSC continues its search for a permanent CEO. During this transitional period, Stroud is expected to maintain the momentum the organisation has built.

“We are confident that Haydee will lead the FSC with stable hands and sustain the momentum the FSC has built in 2024 whilst the board continues recruitment for a CEO,” said Flannagan, whose term as chair was extended this March.

Stroud’s vision for FSC

Upon her appointment, Stroud expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for her new role.

“I am humbled at the appointment and thank the board and board chair Rob Flannagan for the opportunity,” she said.

Stroud has led numerous initiatives at FSC, including the development of the FSC Code of Conduct and an industry-wide data program.

“Over my time at the FSC, I’ve been passionate about combining tangible activity and bringing members together to deliver outcomes for the industry. I look forward to serving the FSC team and community,” Stroud said.

Strategic goals ahead

Looking forward, Stroud is keen to enhance the financial services landscape in New Zealand.

“I look forward to collaborating strategically with the sector, government, and regulators to grow the financial confidence and wellbeing of all New Zealanders,” she said.

Her extensive career spanning more than 30 years in financial services across the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand equips her with the expertise to drive these initiatives effectively.
